Bert Starr is the founder and shareholder of the Starr Law Firm P.C., specializing in handling complex business, real estate, estate planning and tax matters. For over 43 years, Bert has been providing personalized legal service for families and business owners in the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex.

Bert is an honors graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance, a Juris Doctorate, and a Masters in Tax Law. He is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Michigan and licensed to practice before Federal and State Courts as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.

Bert is an active member of the local and national bar associations most recently as the President of the Plano Bar Association, and chairman of the Collin County Bar Association’s Estate Planning Section. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Associations Tax and Estate Planning Sections. Bert has served as board member of several local City Boards and Commissions, Rotary and charitable organizations. Bert has been recognized for his civic contributions by receiving the Citizen of the Year award and the Outstanding Young Texan award from the Texas Jaycees.

Clients enjoy working with Bert because he educates them so they understand their choices under the law and can intelligently assess the risk and rewards of their decisions in all of their legal and business affairs.

Outside of the office, Bert enjoys spending time with his family, playing pickle ball and racing his Porsche.

Laura Starr  is Board Certified in Estate Planning & Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction earned by less than ten percent of all Texas attorneys. Known for handling complex cases, she excels at developing unique and creative solutions to help her clients. Laura believes one of the most important aspects of her practice is seeing the “big picture,” realizing that every person, every family, and every situation is unique. She finds great personal satisfaction in crafting estate plans that provide people with peace of mind and helps them accomplish their goals.

She received her undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University, graduating with a B.S. in political science and attended law school in Chicago at DePaul University College of Law where she received a certificate in business law. During law school, Laura externed for the Honorable Michael F. Otto at the Circuit Court of Cook County and was a member of the International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team. She was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Laura has over 10 years of legal experience handling estate planning, probate & guardianship legal matters for clients in Collin, Grayson, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties and throughout Texas.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter and her Rhodesian Ridgeback.
